ADVANCED CLASS: A Body of Work

This workshop offers a teaching programme designed to further sharpen the skills of upcoming 

photographers and focus their existing projects towards completion and publication purposes.

You will learn how to:

• Appreciate clarity and coherence

• Refine your story

• Edit and sequence

• Present your work and promote your project

• Work on an exhibition/publication

The class offers:

• Lectures on contemporary photography 

• Individual project reviews

• Open discussions and critiques

• Supervision of a project 

• Advanced photographic techniques 

• Digital darkroom workflows 

DAY 1: 22.10.2015

Project Review – Focus on meaning, coherence and presentation.

Photographic Techniques: Advanced use of light and exposure.

Day 2: 23.10.2015 
Location: AAF

Contextualising your work within contemporary photography.

Current methods of presentation with the industry.

“Designing Futures" – introducing homework project.

Day 3: 27.10.2015
Location: Eko Hotel & Suites

Homework Project Review.

Selected images will be shown at LagosPhoto.

Subtle editing: Getting your work to shine.

Feedback, questions and answers. Lecture on contemporary photography.

Day 4. 28.10.2015
Location: Eko Hotel & Suites

Screening of selected works during LagosPhoto. 

Time: 10am to 4pm

Location: African Artists Foundation 54 Raymond Njoku Street, Ikoyi, Lagos & Eko Hotel & Suites.
