The LagosPhoto Symposium, entitled Interventions: Engaging Criticality through Photographic Practice, includes a series of panel discussions with participating photographers concerning the thematic threads of the festival and how photography can be used as a critical tool in negotiating the politics of representation. As part of the LagosPhoto Symposium, this panel discussion explores how artists appropriate images from vernacular and historical archives in order to create fictions and negotiate cultural memory. Panelists include photographers Sesu Tilley-Gyado, Sam Hopkins and Ade Adekola.
